Sport

kiamasquare31The school provides a diversity of sporting opportunities both at a school and representative level.

School Sport
The school employs a specialist Physical Education Teacher two days per week. These lesson involve the teaching of skills in a variety of sports and improving students fitness levels.

 

In Term 4 each year students in K-2 participate in an intensive swimming program at Kiama Leisure Centre. Students in years 3-6 participate in a sport program at the Leisure Centre which includes aspects such as swimming, aerobics and other fitness activities.

Representative Sport
All students in Years 3-6 have the opportunity to participate in diocesan gala days in AFL, Soccer, Netball, Basketball and Cricket.  Boys also have the opportunity to represent the school in the Seven A Side and All Schools Rugby League competitions.

The three major school carnivals, Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics, also act as trials for school teams to participate in Diocesan carnivals.  From here, successful students can trial for selection in MacKillop (NSW Catholic Schools) teams, which can lead to State (PSSA), and ultimately, National teams.

Students talented in a variety of Winter and Summer (team and individual) sports can also trial for selction in Mackillop teams and follow the same selection path as above.
